Life Spinning Out of Control

I hate the fact that it's been so long since I've last updated this blog.  I had so many plans of keeping up with it better than most of my other attempts at things in the past.  *sigh*  Then life happened.  It's always what happens when you're busy making other plans, isn't it?

And it's not anything in particular that has happened either.  Trying to keep up with the boys (who are driving me nuts), getting ready for Thanksgiving and now Christmas, trying to get swaps out.... just one thing after another.  I have been reading quite a bit, though.  I've got a ton of reviews that I need to write up soon.  Quite a few are graphic novels.  I've been in the mood for those lately.  I think I need a bit of superhero in my life right now. I'm hoping to get some of the reviews done today or tomorrow.  The books that I'll be reviewing are:

Blood Lite, ed by Kevin J Anderson
DC Comics: The New Frontier, Vol 1
DC Comics: The New Frontier, Vol 2
DC Comics: Birds of Prey
DC Comics: Final Crisis
Hunting Fear by Kay Hooper
Chill of Fear by Kay Hooper
Sleeping with Fear by Kay Hooper

I'm currently in the middle of Trio of Sorcery by Mercedes Lackey, Anvil of the Sun by Anne Lesley Groell and Whirlwind (Book 1 of the Tyler series) by Nancy Martin.  The last two are rereads (as are the Fear series by Kay Hooper above).  And while looking up the author of Whirlwind, I found out that there was a second series of books.  Now I need to find another set of books to get a hold of!

Most of the swaps I've been doing are online swaps.  I have a blog swap that I need to work on, so you'll be seeing some reviews of those soon as well.  I have done a few crafty ones as well though. Right now, I have a David Tennant ATC swap that's ready to go out.  I'm going to take a few pictures of it before they go.  I hope the people that I'm sending them to like them.  I'm always nervous about that.  I haven't been feeling quite as crafty as I'd like to be.

I've been doing fairly well with LJ Idol.  I'm particularly proud of the entry I wrote for this past week.  The topic was Afterthoughts.  I wrote about how I got together with my first love.  If you're interested in reading it, it's here.  But I have gotten some nice compliments on it, so I guess I'm not the only one who think I did a good job on it.  I'm hoping to make it through another week, but the poll isn't happening until Saturday.  So... I'm on tenderhooks, hoping that it holds up.

I've been trying to get things ready for Christmas, as I mentioned above.  I don't have any of my decorating done, but that's in part because I'm trying to get ready for my in-law's arrival next weekend.  I think part of our plan is to do most of it while they're here, making it kind of a family thing.  I've got all my decorations, our fake tree, everything like that together.  Though if I know me, I'll want to go buy more things before it's all over.  It's my way.  I have gotten most, if not all, of my Christmas shopping done.  I'm most excited about the big gifts for the boys - Teddy's getting his first 2 wheel bike and Peter's getting a Big Wheel.  I'm really expecting them to want to ride them all over the place.  Expect pictures.

Tomorrow, the kids are in PDO and I think I'm going to work on getting my life reorganized.  I've let a lot of things pile up lately and I need to turn it around.  It is a new me, after all.  And I've got to get back to working on that.  And maybe stop babbling for a little while.  'Cause I'm starting to sound a bit weird, aren't I?

Hopefully, I'll be back with something interesting tomorrow!
